Water Policy

Introduction

The Upper District is actively engaged in the federal, state and local governmental arenas with respect to water policy and legislation. Because water policy is a very fluid and dynamic issue area, the Upper District is closely monitoring relevant and important water bills at national and state levels. The Upper District also advocates on behalf of beneficial water policy and legislation for its stakeholders with the federal government, state elected officials, the California Department of Water Resources and local government representatives.

The Water Policy and Legislation section of the Upper District's website is designed to be a resource for residents, businesses, local elected officials and the media. We want to help inform you about emerging policy and legislation. Funding measures related to water issues will be summarized in this section as well.

This section will provide information about key water policy influencers in the State of California, such as key state departments, legislative water committees and their chairpersons, water agency leaders and environmental groups focused on water issues.
